A British pensioner has been killed alongside his younger male lover in a disastrous crash on one of Thailand’s notoriously deadly roads.
The 78-year-old was riding alongside Tawid Kanadee, 27, when their white Toyota Yaris was hit by a silver Honda CRV from behind, tragically pushing them into the path of an oncoming black Isuzu pickup truck.
The OAP was sitting in the passenger seat and sadly faced the majority of the impact before frantic rescuers raced to cut him free from the wreckage and declared him dead at the scene at around 4:30pm local time yesterday (Monday, December 12).

Medics then rushed Tawid to the hospital but sadly could not save him from the horrific injuries he sustained in the collision.
Cops investigating the catastrophe through CCTV found school director Dr Kanittha Thonglert, 57, was behind the wheel of the silver Honda CRV, that had hit into the back of the pair when they slowed to turn down another street.
The black Isuzu reportedly had little time to react to the impending crash.
Both of the other drivers involved in the tragedy escaped unhurt.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ronnapong Chorsai, from the Sawang Wirawong Police Station, said that cops have launched a probe into the heartbreaking incident.
He added: “The investigating officer is in the process of gathering evidence to file charges against the people involved who drove recklessly and caused the collisions and death.”

Thailand’s roads are known for their chaos and danger and the last fatal crash at the same spot came just one week before the deaths of the pensioner and Tawid, with a crash between a school bus and a truck.
The country has one of the lowest road safety records throughout the world with a whopping 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people, thanks to a lack of education and infamously simple driving tests.
Politicians say they are aiming to bring this down to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
