British woman, 20, is killed and two other UK tourists are injured after car she was driving careened off road and crashed into a tree in Australia

A 20-year-old British woman was killed and her two passengers injured when her vehicle veered out of control and crashed into a tree in the southeastern Australian state of Victoria earlier this month.  

The unfortunate incident occurred on the Princes Highway in Winnap, approximately 80 miles west of Warrnambool, around 3:20pm on Sunday 19 November. 

The young driver sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to the hospital, where she tragically died hours later.

Her two passengers, both 26-year-old men hailing from the UK, also suffered injuries and were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.

One was reportedly in a serious but stable condition, while the other sustained minor wounds.  

The circumstances leading to the accident are still under investigation, and authorities are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in determining the cause of the crash.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson told local news that paramedics were called to an incident in Winnap at 3.25pm.

‘A woman in her 20s was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition with upper body injuries,’ their statement read.

‘A man in his 20s suffered lower body injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

‘Another man in his 20s with lower body injuries was taken by road ambulance to Mount Gambier Hospital in a stable condition.’
