Buckingham Palace is on the hunt for an operations officer as part of the King’s helicopter flight team.
The role comes with an advertised salary of £34,000, depending on experience, and requires flexibility to work outside of office hours.
It is a full-time job with an average 37.5 hour work week, working closely with a number of pilots and ground support crew to ensure the safety of every person on board the helicopter.
As part of the job, the candidate will be based out of Odiham, and monitor the progress of each flight, providing the necessary communications for day-to-day operations.

The job advertisement states: ‘You’ll help ensure the safety of the helicopters and associated personnel by contributing to effective safety management and risk reduction, maintaining the highest operating standards, accuracy, dedication and commitment to the task.
‘As the main point of contact for all operational matters, you’ll play an integral role providing excellent support to the wider team.’
Buckingham Palace is looking for a candidate with ‘excellent organisational skills and significant experience in an administrative role’.
Experience with air operations in particular will be highly regarded.
The right person for the job will also possess excellent attention to detail, demonstrate competence in planning complex itineraries and have experience using Safety Management Systems.
As part of the job, the candidate will be based out of Odiham, and monitor the progress of each flight, providing the necessary communications for day-to-day operations

Ideally, the candidate selected for the role will live within 90 minutes of Odiham.
The royal household advertises jobs online. Currently, there are 12 positions available, ranging from summer retail ticket sales assistants to project managers and a family learning coordinator.
