THE new king will be proclaimed tomorrow morning in St James's Palace, say royal officials.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles III will be officially take up his post as head of state at 10am tomorrow at the Accession Council.
The ceremony will take place in the State Apartments of St James's Palace, according to officials.
King Charles is replacing his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who tragically passed away yesterday aged 96.
The new king left Balmoral this morning, accompanied by Queen Consort Camilla, after rushing to Scotland to be with his mother in her final hours.
A large number of the royal family sped to the castle yesterday, including Princes Andrew and William.
Both the King and his wife looked emotional as they were driven to Aberdeen Airport to begin their journey back to London today.
His Majesty will meet PM Liz Truss today and make his first televised address to the nation as monarch later today.

Parliament will hear tributes from MPs and peers from 12pm today in a special session of condolence.
A 96-round gun salute commemorating each year of the Queen's incredible life will then ring out from London's Hyde Park at 1pm.
The PM and senior ministers will attend a public service of remembrance at St Paul's at 6pm tonight.
Charles automatically became King after Her Majesty's passing but the new role will be made official tomorrow.
This will take place at St James's Palace in London with a public proclamation of the new sovereign read from the Friary Court balcony.
The pomp and ceremony comes after King Charles led the royals in paying tribute to his beloved mum in a touching statement.
He said: "The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.
