Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will enjoy a host of security benefits during their stay in the UK next month at Frogmore Cottage next month including round-the-clock police detail and armed guards.

The couple has announced they will make a surprise return to take part in a number of charity events including The One Young World 2022 Manchester Summit on September 5.

The Sussexes were last in the United Kingdom for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June when they stayed in the cottage to host Lilibet's first birthday celebrations.

Located in the Windsor Castle estate, Frogmore Cottage includes some of the best protection in the world courtesy of the Queen's personal guard.

Due to its location, Frogmore cottage is enclosed in something called the 'Windsor security zone' making it all but impregnable to would-be stalkers or troublemakers.

The sky above Windsor Castle has been a no-fly zone since January this year after security concerns were raised by the Queen's Christmas Day would-be attacker.

On Christmas Day last year, Jaswant Singh Chail snuck into Windsor Castle armed with a crossbow and was immediately detained and prosecuted under the Treason Act.

As well as the skies being closed, the grounds of Windsor Castle are tightly controlled.

All visitors to the estate must go through an airport-style security system before they are granted access.

At all times police officers from Thames Valley Police and the Royalty and Diplomatic Protection Department of the London Metropolitan Police provide a watch.

In addition to this, the army is also close by with the nearby Foot Guards battalion at Victoria Barracks and the armoured reconnaissance squadron of the Household Cavalry at Combermere Barracks.

This presence means that, if required, the royals could be protected by hundreds of soldiers and even light tanks in minutes.

The security detail is likely something that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are grateful for considering their long and drawn-out battle with the government over protection in the UK.

Last month, Harry won the first stage of his legal battle against the Home Office over security arrangements when he and wife Meghan are in the UK.

Harry took action after he was not allowed to pay for police protection for him or his family while in north America.

His lawyers have now been given permission for a full hearing to take place and to have a judge look over the Home Office's decision.
