Child abuse ringleader who recruited UK's 'worst female paedophile’ Vanessa George should not get parole, blasts MP | The Sun

PROLIFIC paedo Colin Blanchard should not be freed from prison when he goes before a parole hearing next week, says an MP representing his victims.

The beast, who recruited nursery worker Vanessa George into abusing 64 babies and toddlers in her care, could walk free in early summer.

Blanchard, 53, was jailed for a minimum of nine years in 2011 over the abuse in Plymouth.

He is expected to plead for a second chance in a one-day Parole Board hearing.

But local MP Luke Pollard said: “I will be writing to the Justice Secretary to express my disgust at the prospect of him being released.

"Along with George, they have yet to reveal which children they abused, which only adds to the agony of the families.”

A source told The Sun: “Blanchard is pulling out all the stops. He has ticked many rehabilitation boxes and is really positive.

“But it will take a courageous Parole Board to release him.

"In reality, the best he might hope for is to be transferred to a Category D open prison.”

Blanchard has been held at Category C HMP Wymott, near Leyland, Lancs.

A Parole Board spokesperson said: “An oral hearing has been listed for the parole review of Colin Blanchard and is scheduled to take place in March 2023.

“Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community.”

George was named Britain’s worst female paedo in 2009 after she was jailed for taking sick pictures of herself harming babies and toddlers.

Special needs coordinator George took the images for Blanchard on her phone at a nursery in Plymouth.

She was jailed in 2009 for a minimum of seven years.

The evil nursery worker is back on the streets after serving just ten years. She was released in 2019.

Blanchard was described as “the hub of the paedophile wheel” at his sentencing.

He was considered for release along with co-conspirator Angela Allen in 2020 despite a judge warning in 2011 that he may never be freed from jail.

His case was referred to the Parole Board by the Ministry of Justice but experts judged him not ready for release without a hearing.

He was required to complete another course in jail designed to prevent him re-offending and be reviewed by a psychologist.

After he had completed his nine-year minimum sentence, the Ministry of Justice referred his case to be considered for release.
