Child rushed to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after being mauled by two dogs

A child has been rushed to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after being mauled by two dogs – thought to be German Shepherd and Dogue de Bordeaux crossbreeds

Police were called to reports that a child had been bitten by the animals on Howe Lane, Poringland, South Norfolk at around 9.30am on Friday.

The youngster was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where they were treated for ‘serious injuries’, according to the Sun.

A Norfolk Constabulary spokesperson said the owner handed the dogs over to police, and they will be destroyed.

German Shepherds can weigh up to 40 kg and a Dogue de Bordeaux, a large French mastiff breed, can weigh up to 65 kg.

Police were called to Howe Lane, Poringland, South Norfolk after reports of a child left with serious injuries from being attacked by the dogs
