CRAIG David was left feeling "violated" after a stalker knocked on his hotel room and visited his home in a five-year ordeal, a court heard.

The singer, 41, was allegedly bombarded with unwanted attention by obsessed fan Tanya Jeal.

Jeal, 31, believed she was in a relationship with David and sent a letter to his parents enclosed with photos, it is said.

She is accused of showing up to his hotel room clutching a photo from when she met him at an album signing in HMV a few months earlier.

After she was escorted away by security, Jeal allegedly wrote a note to the 7 Days singer saying: "I hope Buddha deals with lies like you, Buddha will take this from here, you're an a**ehole".

Bromley Magistrates' Court heard she signed the letter from "your motherf*****g girlfriend".

The Re-Rewind star branded Jeal "sinister" and said that she had left him living "in fear".

He added: "I want to be able to walk down the street without looking over my shoulder.

"This female is the only person who has made me feel this way throughout the whole of my career.

"I tried to see her as someone who was a little too excited…[but it] escalated into something that was far more scary."

The court was told Jeal believed she was in a relationship with David after they first met in 2016.

She felt he was "communicating with her seemingly through the radio and that they were in love with each other", it was said.

In October 2021, Jeal stood motionless during one of David's gigs while holding the HMV photo of their first meeting and dressed as Beyonce.

She chucked a glove on the stage, which she claimed was in reference to the singer's favourite film Serendipity.

A month later she showed up at David's home and repeatedly buzzed the intercom, it was said.

David had an interim Stalking Protection Order put in place in December which bans Jeal from contacting him.

She believes the order is no longer necessary as she now says the singer is "gay".

In her evidence, Jeal continued: "I was an innocent fan. Fans are generally infatuated by their idols.

"Any fan you could speak to out there who is a fan of anyone would say the same thing. That they would do outgoing crazy things to their idols.

"Again I wouldn't be stalking him or anything like that ever again because of what I know about him.
