Driver shot in carjacking, Adams County Sheriff’s Office said

A driver was shot during a carjacking in Adams County early Saturday morning.

The incident happened about 13:35 a.m. in the 7300 block of Dakin Street, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The victims, a driver and passenger, parked a red Chevrolet Cruze, Colorado license plate BIJ C56, when two men approached, the release said. A disturbance occurred and the driver was shot. The suspects then fled in the Chevy. The driver was taken to a hospital.

Anyone who sees the vehicle, or who has information on the incident, is asked to call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 720-322-1313. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
