Police have arrested a doctor and his daughter after the decapitated body of a naked man was found in a notorious ‘love hotel’ in Japan.

The headless corpse of Hitoshi Ura, 62, was discovered by staff at the Let’s Susukino Hotel in the Susukino district of Sapporo.

A worker stumbled across the shocking scene in a second floor room of the hotel on July 2 after Mr Ura had failed to check out of his room that afternoon.

His naked body was sprawled across the bathroom, with the victim’s head was nowhere to be found.

Doctor Osamu Tamura, 59, and his daughter Runa, 29, have now been arrested on suspicion of being involved in his murder, per local news reports in Japan.

An autopsy on Ura’s mutilated body found his cause of death was haemorrhagic shock as a result of blood loss from stab wounds.

His head was sawn off with a blade, after which it was taken from the scene of the crime.

Mr Tamura and his daughter were reportedly detained on Monday in connection with the savage beheading of Mr Ura.

Police are now working to establish if there is any relationship between the pair and Mr Ura, as well as any possible motive.

Police told Japanese newspaper The Mainichi that Mr Tamura’s daughter may have been known by the victim prior to the horrific incident.

However, they have not yet revealed whether either of the arrested duo have pleaded guilty to any of the allegations.

Investigators claim Mr Ura and another individual – believed to be Runa – checked into the hotel at around 10.50pm local time on July 1.

Whilst the victim never emerged, his companion is said to have departed the ‘love hotel’ at 2am.

Police suspect that Mr Tamura dropped off and picked up his daughter, but say he did not enter the building.
