I was mauled and hospitalised by savage pitbull while its model owner LAUGHED… but her actions at court were even worse | The Sun

A WOMAN who suffered horrific injuries in a savage pitbull attack told how its owner laughed as the beast mauled her.

But model and influencer Holly Snelgar soon turned on the tears and sobbed when she faced jail.

Holly’s dog Kaiser ripped into Jennie Lawrenson’s arms, legs, shoulders, chest and torso after she confronted the TikToker over a booze-fuelled party at her Airbnb apartment.

Model Snelgar, 25, who then attacked a policeman, was given two years community service after the horrendous attack which put Jennie in hospital for three days.

She cried in front of the Judge at Manchester Crown Court as she personally apologised to Jennie and partner Myles Waldron, who was also bitten.

But Jennie, 50, of Manchester, said: “As far as I’m concerned it was all an act.

“She turned up for court like she was dressed for the catwalk. She was loving the attention.

“She told the judge she couldn’t afford any legal representation and pleaded poverty but was wearing what looked like an expensive outfit and Christian Louboutin shoes.

“The lawyers dealing with my criminal compensation have been writing to her for months to ask if she had any insurance for the dog and she’s never replied, so she can’t be that sorry, can she?”

Property manager Jennie rented out a Manchester apartment to Snelgar and two male pals in December 2021.

The property is next door to Jennie’s flat. When she and Myles were woken by loud noises at 4.30am, she got out of bed and went round to ask her guests to quieten down.

But once inside the flat, Snelgar’s eight-month-old English pitbull Kaiser pounced.

Jennie said: “It came from nowhere and clamped onto my arm.

“The weight of it pushed me back into the bathroom and I was screaming at the top of my voice. Snelgar and her two friends just stood there doing nothing.”

The court heard how the influencer, from Hampshire, watched as the dog also attacked Jennie’s partner as he came to her rescue.

As Jennie fled the flat into a joint corridor the animal attacked again, knocking her to the floor.

She said: “I was on the phone to the police shouting out my address but then I felt the animal attack me from behind.

“It got me on the floor and it gouged into my thigh and bit me on the arms, on my side and on my shoulders.

“I don’t know how I got away without it biting my face. It was horrific. I was on the floor for what felt like forever.

“One of the guys staying with Snelgar got the dog off, and I ran to the nearby stairwell.

"Then one of the men came towards me with the dog in his arms, saying ‘it’s nothing, it’s nothing'.

“I ran back towards the flat to find Myles and the dog got me on the floor again.

"By this time Myles was under attack from her friends and couldn’t do anything to help me.

I don’t know how I got away without it biting my face. It was horrific. I was on the floor for what felt like forever

“He’d also been bitten on the thigh. It was really, really scary, and even now, if I read a story about a dog attack, I feel triggered and stressed.”

When police arrived, "blackout drunk" Snelgar kicked a police officer in the leg and stomach.

Prosecutor Katie Walden told the court how the influencer screamed at a policeman: “Don’t f*****g handcuff me, who the f**k do you think you are, get off me."

Snelgar said she was so drunk she could barely remember the night.

She tearfully read out a statement which said: “I couldn’t be more mortified by my 10 minutes of drunk lunacy. This character was not me. I resent myself everyday.”

Snelgar, who said she earns about £1,000 a month from Instagram and TikTok, then turned to Jennie, sitting in the public gallery, and said: “From the bottom of my heart, I’m truly sorry for the pain I have caused you.”

Snelger pleaded guilty to two charges of being in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control, and one count of assaulting an emergency worker, at her first appearance before Manchester Magistrates’ Court in April.

But the charges were so serious she could only be sentenced at the Crown Court.

She underwent a dramatic transformation between the two hearings, going from a dressed-down brunette to a high-glamour blonde.

Snelgar was sentenced to a two-year community order, in which she must complete 125 hours of unpaid work, and attend 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

She must also pay Jennie £300 and Myles £200 in compensation.

Jennie said: “I really feel like she’s played the system. Sentencing was delayed three times, which caused us a huge deal of distress, then when we got to court she just cried and walked away.

“I will never forget that night. I ended up having to be put under anaesthetic for three hours so the bite wounds could be cleaned properly.

"I don’t even know how many stitches were put in because I wasn’t conscious.

“The bite on my thigh is the worst and I have scars all over my arms and shoulders.

“We’re so disappointed that the judge accepted her word for it that she had no money.

“I was also upset when she was allowed to address us directly in court. It felt like she was in control of the whole thing.

I really feel like she’s played the system. Sentencing was delayed three times, which caused us a huge deal of distress, then when we got to court she just cried and walked away

"It felt like ‘the Holly Snelgar show’ the way she presented herself. It was all about the impact on her rather than on us.”

Sentencing, Judge John Potter told Snelgar her behaviour was “drunken and debauched”.

He told her: "You had taken drink and possibly other substances, you were heavily intoxicated. The party got out of hand.

“On any view, you have caused both of your victims significant trauma and harm.

"Your actions, Ms Snelgar, in relation to your dog that day and more importantly your victims, were reckless, extremely unpleasant, harmful and inspired by drink.
