Protestors from controversial and shouty climate change group Extinction Rebellion have been branded as “idiots” after gluing themselves to the Speaker's Chair in the House of Commons.
And they did it because the want to create a Citizens' Assembly.
But social media users were quick to point out that the five protesters holding up “let the people decide” and “citizens assembly now” banners were actually already inside a Citizen's Assembly.

The strange bunch of angry people – comprised of three women and two men – also read a speech out inside the very empty House of Commons.
Parliament is currently in recess, hence the emptiness, but that didn't stop them reading their speech.
They said: “It is possible to act on climate and costs in a way that is fair and supports everyone.
“But our political system is too out of date and out of touch to see beyond the next election cycle and do what needs to be done.
“We need a new way of making decisions, where more voices are heard, not just those at the top. “We need the true diversity of the country to be represented.
“We need a Citizens’ Assembly, now. Citizens’ Assemblies empower ordinary people to make decisions that benefit everyone.
“Decisions that can get us out of this mess and make life better, safer, fairer for all of us.”
It didn't take long for Twitter users to ridicule and slam them.

Former Crystal Palace football club owner, and Talksport presenter Simon Jordan didn't hold back on the group.
He tweeted: “Enough now!
“One thing imparting a message, another now digging up roads, attempting to disrupt society.
“House of Commons whilst isn’t the adhesive in society, these idiots enough now. (sic)
“They have been allowed to keep on and on, time now to stop this!”
And writer Jordan Tyldesley tweeted: “How would we treat these people if they were working class men?
“If they had football shirts on or hoodies etc.

“Not that they would ever want to do this.
“Doubt they’d have got inside and if they did it would be treated as some sort of insurrection.”
And GB News presenter Michelle Dewberry posted questions about the state of security in the HoC, after the group appeared to get in unobstructed.
She added: “Just leave them there now.
“Maybe give them some paperwork backlogs or something to work through while there
“Then, just ignore them.”
