I’m a waitress – dine and dashers tried to get one over on me using the ‘fake card’ trick but I had the last laugh | The Sun

A WAITRESS has slammed two diners for allegedly leaving without paying for their meal after trying to trick her with a fake credit card.

But the server, who works at an American diner, managed to get her own back on the couple who seemed to leave their £40 tab unpaid.

Jenny Gutierrez, who is studying nursing at college, said: "They gave me a fake card.

"It didn't go through and they had already left when I was trying to give them the card back.

"It had no money on it, it was a fake card."

In a video posted online, the server describes her bizarre interaction with the alleged dine and dashers.

Footage shows them walking into the restaurant just before 6pm and seating themselves in a booth.

The man and woman can then be seen enjoying their meal leisurely before handing the waitress a credit card.

By the time she gets back to the table to return the fake card and take payment for the meal, they're gone.

Jenny, who presumably works in the diner part-time while she studies, said the pair ordered "all the extras" with their meal.

But the waitress got her own back as the couple sneakily ditched the diner.

She can be seen in the footage hurrying after them, before apparently warning them of her plans to post them online.

"They literally ran out and I was walking and they were too far.

"But I heard them, I told them 'We're gonna post you on social media and we're gonna find you guys'."

And the CCTV footage of the sneaky pair has now circulated online.

One viewer even said: "Me personally I'm hunting them down".

Another wrote that "karma will eat 'em up".

Last month waiters at a new seafood restaurant in California were also the victims of a dine and dash scam.

A couple left without paying for their £120 meal after telling their server they were going to use the bathroom and then making a quick exit.
