Ivana Trump befriended a heiress with the same name during a short stint in a Malibu rehab where she treated her fellow patients to a champagne lunch.

Ivana Lowell, the daughter of English writer Lady Caroline Blackwood, has revealed pair spent time together at the center in Malibu, bonding over their first name.

Mourners gathered outside of the St. Vincent Ferrer Church, in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, close to the townhouse where Ivana, 73, was found dead last week.

The Trump family gathered in New York City to bid farewell to Ivana, Donald’s first wife and the mother of his three oldest children – Eric, Ivanka and Don Jr.

Guinness heiress Lowell claims that she spent some time with her namesake at the facility in Malibu, years after Ivana and Donald divorced in 1990.

She met the socialite for the first time at the ‘pink mansion’, claiming that she had demanded to be called ‘Maria’ and was accompanied by a young man called ‘Roberto’ during her stay.

Writing for Air Mail, Lowell said: ‘A tall woman with almost equally tall blonde hair and a faceful of makeup was screaming, at whoever would listen to her. “How many times do I have to tell you my name is not Ivana—it is Maria. I am Maria”.’

Ivana Trump reportedly spent a short amount of time in the rehabilitation center, where she celebrated with other patients with champagne before gifting author Ivanka Lowell with a bottle of her perfume

‘When she calmed down, I turned around and introduced myself: ‘Hello, I’m Ivana.’ She seemed confused at first, but then, as her anger subsided, her face began to soften.’

Lowell explained that it was the start of their unlikely friendship, and said that during their time in rehab Ivana did not ‘feel it was necessary’ for her to attend group or any meetings, and when she asked why she was there Ivana simply replied ‘pure exhaustion.’

But she went on to say that Trump  became an ‘integral, part of their group and spoke ‘honestly and candidly’ about an abusive marriage she had been in – though it is not clear which one of her husbands this was referring to.

Following her split from Donald Trump, Ivana started a romance with Italian businessman Riccardo Mazzucchelli, whom she wed in 1995, however the marriage was short-lived and the pair divorced just two years later.

She then went on to date and marry Italian actor Rossano Rubicondi, who passed away in October 2021 following a battle with cancer.

Lowell added: ‘Roberto and Ivana never adhered to the daily schedules imposed upon the rest of us.

‘They would take off for a lunch with friends in Malibu or a shopping spree in Santa Barbara.

‘I would gaze out of the window of my therapist’s office, bored rigid from having to retell stories of childhood trauma, only to see Ivana and Roberto pull up in their red convertible.

‘Ivana would be laughing as she fished out endless shopping bags from the back seat of the car, and I could hear her still laughing as her high heels clipped up the staircase.’

Towards the end of her stay, Lowell says Ivana organized a champagne dinner for her and other patients saying ‘I think we all deserve a treat’.

Those who attended the dinner reportedly had a chaperone from rehab, but Ivana ‘made him disappear’ before a waiter appeared with champagne and crystal flutes.

But those who had paid to be at the rehab did not touch the alcohol, but Ivana remained ‘completely unfazed’.

Before leaving, Ivana gifted the author with a bottle of her IVANA perfume, with a note saying ‘with love from one Ivana to another.’

She added: ‘I still have the bottle of perfume, and I am sad she has gone. Who else is going to be the other Ivana?’

Lowell also claimed that she met Donald on one occasion after her boyfriend was assigned to interview him, with the former-President reportedly saying: ‘Ivana! Are you kidding me? I just got rid of one, and now you’re telling me there is another one?’

All of Ivana’s children spoke at the two-hour Mass service on Wednesday in front of 100 mourners, including Donald, his wife Melania and their 16-year-old son Barron.

Ivanka told the crowd: ‘Growing up, my mother didn’t tell me a woman could do anything she wanted to — she showed me.

‘She was a trailblazer to men and women alike. My mother once told me there was nothing she couldn’t do in heels.

‘She taught us how to spear fish and then cook what we caught. My mom expanded our minds.’

Don Jr. spoke next and delighted the congregation with fond memories and jokes. Before he returned to his seat, he said: ‘I love you, mom.’

Eric Trump, the youngest, spoke next: ‘She had brains; she had beauty. She was the embodiment of the American dream…

‘She was a force of nature, could beat any man down the slopes, any woman on the runway.

‘She ruled the three of us [kids] with an iron fist but also a heart of gold.’

A mound of red roses lay before the altar, surrounded by 73 burning candles which symbolized each year of Ivana’s life.

After the service, Ivana’s body was carried out of the building in a golden casket, past her family and dozens of VIP guests.

A woman, who appeared to be Ivana’s caregiver, cried on the church’s steps as the pallbearers passed.

Ivana was also honored by her favorite New York City restaurant, Nello, which lit candles and displayed flowers at her favorite table while she was laid to rest.

She was buried next to the first hole along a grassy area at her ex-husband’s tony Bedminster Golf Club following the invite-only funeral service.
