Kayak fisherman snaps moment sharks surround him and bite chunks of his tuna

A kayaker fishing for tuna was left stunned after he reeled in a huge catch and discovered that monster sharks had already torn whopping chunks out of his fish.

Connor, who was hunting in the sea in Hawaii, suddenly realised he was floating in shark-infested waters.

He caught the terrifying moment on his GoPro camera after hauling the three-stone tuna from the waters and seeing huge individual tooth marks from the hungry sharks prowling underneath him.

But the brave fisherman remained calm and filmed a video for his TikTok account where he joked: “Now is not a good time to fall into the water.”

In the chilling clip, which has been seen over four million times on the video platform, Connor also tells followers: "That is scary, I do not want to be out here.

“So that was a little frightening, all was going well until a shark decided that it was hungry too.”

But despite coming up close to a beast’s jaws, he didn’t let the incident phase him.

He told Newsweek he was annoyed at losing his catch and explained: "I was out there in total for about six hours.

“It was sort of alarming but also very frustrating because I worked hard to catch that fish.”

Connor said the incident hadn’t put him off and revealed there were often sharks in the waters.

He added: “There were two days in a row that the sharks were particularly feisty.

"A 'bad!' did slip out as if it were a dog. I just remained on the kayak and got some cool GoPro shots both above and below the water then left the area and carried on.

“They stopped following after about 50 yards.”
