Mystic Meg changed my life forever: Lorry driver says following astrologer’s Lottery advice landed him £15million jackpot win and now he has a luxury car for every day of the week

A former lorry driver’s life changed forever after he followed the advice of an astrologer which landed him £15million on a lottery jackpot win.

Tom Naylor and his wife Rita followed the advice of Mystic Meg back in 2001 which they claim changed their lives forever as he now owns a luxury car for every day of the week.

At the time it was the contest’s sixth biggest jackpot and they claim the astrologer, who died aged 80 yesterday, played a huge part in their win.

Margaret Lane, who is known professionally as Mystic Meg, told Tom’s sign Gemini to keep their lottery tickets in a yellow mug.

The 67-year-old didn’t own a yellow mug and instead kept it in between the yellow pages of his map book- he later went on to win millions with the same ticket.

Tom told The Sun: ‘We’re so sad. She was wonderful.

‘We still read Mystic Meg’s stars in The Sun every day and we’re proof that her predictions come true.

‘Yellow is a Gemini colour and it was a very good day for Geminis because Mercury was very active.

‘I always followed Meg’s advice. I didn’t have a yellow mug in my cab but the pages of my map book were yellow, so I stuck my ticket in that instead.’

He went from earning £1,000 a month working 12-hour shifts for a haulage company to earning that every day in interest.

Tom, who used to own a 20-year-old Ford Granada, has spent more than £750,000 on luxury motors, including a Rolls Royce, Jaguars and a Land Rover Discovery.

He has built six garages and owns one car for each day of the week, according to The Sun.

The first car he bought with his winnings 17 years ago was a jet-black Jaguar XJR which he still owns to this day.

The former lorry driver paid £150,000 for the high-end saloon and it can reach 60mpg in 7.6 seconds.

The couple also paid £47,630 for a firey red Mustang V8 which has a top speed of 162mph.

Their most expensive motor is a £500,000 Jaguar XJ220 in green. It can reach a top speed of 214mph and there are only 15 left in the UK.

The couple also own a silver Jaguar F-Type convertible for sunnier days.

Tom was also invited by Aston Martin to own a limited edition DB9- Bond Edition which comes complete in Obsidian Black leather with a full-length carbon-fibre fascia.

Only 150 were made and he paid £170,000.

His first Aston Martin was the regular DB9 which he paid £150,000 for.

Finally one of Tom’s latest purchases, which he nicknamed his shopping trolley, is a Land Rover Discovery.

Tom bought the winning ticket at Frankley Service Station in Birmingham after he and his friend based the numbers on their birthdays and house numbers.

The couple swapped their £50,000 three-bed semi-detached house in Wednesbury, West Midlands, for a £480,000 luxury barn conversion with two acres of land in the picturesque village of Wheaton Aston, Staffordshire.

But it was not always a walk in the park for the couple as nine years ago they were involved in a turf war with their neighbours over a tiny trip of grass which was less than a meter wide.

The legendary astrologer, who passed away from a short illness aged 80, on Thursday morning, grew up in a terraced house in Accrington, where she was taught astrology by her Russian gypsy grandmother.

She never married after her partner and heir to the Littlewoods football pools and retail empire, Nigel Moores, was killed in a horror crash in the south of France in 1977.

It was a cruel twist of fate after a horoscope reading when Meg was just seven predicted she would be betrothed to a wealthy man. Mr Moores was worth £9million when he died aged 39.

Meg grew up in a terraced house in Accrington, where she was taught astrology by her Russian gypsy grandmother – although becoming a soothsayer was not her immediate career choice

In the fatal accident, Mr Moores was thrown from the passenger side of a Land Rover as the vehicle somersaulted and burst into flames on a road near Marseilles.

He had been a keen motor racer but felt he had to hide it from certain members of his family, who frowned upon the sport.

Mr Moores was the son of Cecil Moores, who alongside his brother Sir John Moores, founded the Littlewoods and Football Pools empire.

The final reading for Meg, who is a Leo, published on the day of her death, reads: ‘It can be the most routine of routine journeys that takes you towards your soulmate – and you may not realise this straight away.’
