Lorry overturns on M25 in crash that also involves VW Passat and Ford Fiesta and causes massive tailbacks
Multiple vehicles have been involved in a crash after a lorry overturned on the M25, causing major tailbacks.
The circular motorway has been closed in an anti-clockwise direction this morning between junctions 20 (Kings Langley) and 18 (Chorleywood) following the crash which involved at least a VW Passat and a Ford Fiesta.
After the lorry was left blocking three lanes, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue and the East of England Ambulance service rushed to the scene as the driver was trapped inside the vehicle.
National Highways: East wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘The #M25 in #Hertfordshire has now been closed anti-clockwise between J20 and J18 due to an incident involving an overturned lorry. @HertsPolice, Traffic Officers and recovery are on scene.’
Remarkably, despite at least three vehicles crashing, there appears to be no injuries. Police believe a fourth vehicle – a van – may have also been involved in the crash.

Hertfordshire Police said it received a report of the crash at 9.30am this morning that a lorry had overturned between junctions 18 and 19.
A spokesman added: ‘The lorry was blocking three lanes, ambulance and fire were called as the driver of the lorry was trapped inside but appears to be uninjured.
‘Two other vehicles were also involved a VW Passat and Ford Fiesta and possibly another van but the log is a bit unclear.’
The force added that there does not appear to be any injuries at this stage and emergency services are clearing the road now.
Traffic is being released down one lane following the crash so motorists are expected to face heavy delays.
Congestion is also building in the clockwise direction with drivers slowing down for the incident on the opposite side.
