The man suspected of abducting and ‘murdering’ Madeleine McCann has likened the German prosecutor investigating him to Adolf Hitler.

Christian Brueckner, 45, is currently serving seven years for the rape of a 72-year-old woman but he has also been named as the man responsible for the kidnap and ‘murder’ of McCann.

The convicted paedophile slammed prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters in a prison letter seen by the Mirror.

On May 3, 2007, Madeleine McCann disappeared aged three from her bed in Praia da Luz, Portugal

Brueckner has been the main suspect in McCann’s case for two years but so far no charges relating to her have been brought against him

On May 3, 2007, Gerry and Kate McCann left their three children, including Maddie, asleep in their hotel apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, as they ate with friends in a nearby restaurant.

When they returned, they realised three-year-old Maddie was missing from her bed.

The next day one of their friends reported seeing a man carrying a child away in the night.

Brueckner has denied being involved in the three-year-old’s disappearance.
