A man has been shot by police following an alleged carjacking in Geelong.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after allegedly confronting the officers with a gun.

Police responded to reports that a man in his 70s was threatened by a man with gun and pulled from his car, a Holden Commodore, on Iona Street at Norlane, in Geelong’s north, about 3.50pm.
Police said the stolen car was later found by police about one kilometre away at Warrawee Avenue about 4.25pm.
“Officers approached [the car] and were confronted by a man with a firearm who was subsequently shot by police,” senior constable Adam West said in a statement released by Victoria Police.
He said Professional Standards Command had been notified and would be attending the scene.
