Meghan and Harry could be stripped of titles if they go ‘fully rogue’ in memoir

Prince Harry’s new memoir may jeopardise the remaining titles of him, Meghan Markle, and their children, according to royal biographer Tom Bower.

The memoir entitled 'Spare' is due to be released in January, with publisher Penguin Random House promising “unflinching honesty” and “hard-won wisdom”.

Despite losing their HRH titles, Harry and Meghan still retain their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.

Meanwhile, their children Archie and Lilibet are entitled to be called Prince and Princess, although this HRH status has not yet been granted.

However, Tom Bower warns that the memoir could put an end to any titles the family currently have or are entitled to.

Bower told The Sun: “This book is really make or break. I imagine that King Charles has been warned that any retaliation won’t be pretty.

“All that King Charles can really do is to withhold the titles for his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.

“Ultimately, I suppose, he could take away Harry and Meghan’s titles as well but that’s pretty drastic.

“I don’t know what else he can do. If it is as bad as I think it is, then Harry and Meghan have gone fully rogue.”

If King Charles III reacts by stripping Harry and Meghan of their titles, he won’t be the first monarch to do so in recent years.

Queen Margrethe II recently stripped four of her grandchildren of royal titles in order to streamline the Danish Royal family.

The move created a huge public backlash from within the family with accusations of ‘mistreatment’.

King Charles has similarly pushed to streamline the British Royal family, with fewer royal family members performing official duties or using public funds.
