The Met Office has issued a weather warning as Britain is expected to be lashed with 80mph winds.

Homes across the UK could face power cuts with commuters expected to run into huge travel disruption.

The warning covers parts of the Scottish Highlands and the Outer Hebrides between 8am and 6pm today (Wednesday, November 8). A spokesperson said: “It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves”.
