THE body of a missing mum has been found in a lake nearly a month after she vanished.

Taiwo Balogun, 53, disappeared on December 1 from Bexley, south London.

Today Metropolitan Police confirmed a woman's body was found in a lake near Bluewater Shopping Centre and that the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Although the body has not been formally identified, cops say they have notified her family of the find.

A spokesperson said: "A woman's body was recovered from a lake near Bluewater Shopping Centre on Fri 30 Dec.

"While formal identification awaits, Taiwo Balogun's family has been informed.

"Her death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious. Our thoughts are with Taiwo's family."

Earlier this month cops released CCTV of the mum in a London corner shop before she disappeared.

Her family also released a statement at the time, saying: “We are very worried about our mum.

"She is greatly loved and a massive part of our lives.
