A MUM has spoken of her horror after the owner of a dog that mauled her son to death was allowed prison days out.
Jack Lis was killed by a hulking XL Bully dog named Beast as he played at friend's home in Caerphilly.
The dog's owner Amy Salter, 29, was jailed for three years in June last year, while her partner was caged for four years and six months.
Jack's mum Emma Whitfield has now revealed Salter is enjoying days out while serving her prison sentence.
She told the Mirror: "She’s been allowed out on a regular basis over the past few months."
The mum, 32, said Salter has never even apologised to her for the horror in November 2021.

She also told how she fears bumping into Salter in the street when she is on day release.
Emma added: "She was jailed in June 2022 and since then has tried every opportunity to get out early.
"Within the first six months of her sentence, the day before the first anniversary of Jack’s death, she tried to get moved to an open prison. Thankfully, this was not granted.
“Then in July she was asking again to get out but this time to be released before her licensed release. As it is she will be out by the middle of December."

Jack had been playing with a pal when he went to another friend's home in a neighbouring street.
Once inside, the eight stone devil dog savaged the schoolboy leaving him with "unsurvivable" injuries.
Beast's previous owner was trying to get rid of the dog just days before the horror amid fears it would attack.
It had only just been taken in by the family of one of Jack's schoolfriends when it viciously mauled the boy.
A day after collecting it from the previous owner, the dog lunged at kids in a horrifying attack outside a shop.
Emma is now hoping to launch a "Jack Lis law" to crack down on "ticking bomb" dogs like Beast and introduce tougher sentences.
She said: "I don’t understand why people responsible for their dog killing someone can get so little.
"Brandon is due out next summer and she will be out by Christmas. That’s not justice."
