LOCALS are thrilled to reclaim their town after it was taken over by selfish tourists – who used people's gardens as their toilets.
Relieved homeowners in Marsden, West Yorkshire, are proud to see normality return after drunken revellers plagued the "beautiful village".
The area used to be the last visit for punters going on an infamous eight stop pub crawl.
Nuisance tourists who stumbled to the finish point of the Transpennine Real Ale Trail sparked anger among locals.
But now a brighter outlook is on the horizon, with less lager louts passing through.
Janice Deakin told Teesside Live: "We don't get the crowds that we used to, although there is a good smattering of people.

"I think it might be due to the train strikes.
"I think it's good (that the Ale Trail is less busy) but it is not good for the businesses that rely on them for trade.
"When it first started, it was awful – urinating in people's gardens and using my fence as a toilet. They would go behind a (neighbour's) wall and use it as a toilet.
"When it first started there was vandalism, swearing, broken glass and urinating in gardens."

The resident was delighted to say by 9pm on Saturdays most of the crowds have cleared off.
And while Janice used to welcome considerate boozers and "some really good" groups, there were always others who ruined it.
"We don't have any trouble at all now – and here (Station Road) we are right in the firing line of it," she added.
Janice said despite previous problems, she "would not live anywhere else".
"It's a beautiful village with lovely views. We attract a lot of tourists," she continued.
"The Ale Trail is still on going but it is not as intense as it was. The village is still busy and the shops are doing a good trade."
Another happy local believed lockdown and industrial action helped reduce the amount of drunken tourists.
She said: "I have lived in a lot of places in my life and this is the best place I have ever lived."
A student in the area agreed and added: "t's nicer to be honest when there's not loads of people. It's more peaceful."
This comes as other idyllic towns across the UK are ruined by tourists, according to residents.
In Cornwall, residents of Mousehole, have to leave town to buy everyday essentials.
Rising visitor numbers has wreaked havoc on the property market as houses are snatched up by tourists for holiday homes.
Meanwhile, in Padstow, North Cornwall, glorious golden beaches are a hit with tourists – but now its popularity is wreaking havoc with residents.
The disheartened community are so up-in-arms about the worsening housing situation and claim greedy tourists are "overburdening the system".
And, families in a Yorkshire seaside 'ghost town' also say they are being forced out and torn apart by holiday home owners.
