PARENTS have been told to “grow a pair of legs” and walk to their kids’ primary school in a row over traffic chaos outside the gates.
A councillor made the comment while lashing out at parents and pupils of Chancellor Park Primary School in Chelmsford, Essex, after nearby residents complained.
Tensions have been growing between the school, neighbours and parents as two classes of the school are located down the road in temporary classrooms.
Because of this residents have complained of disruption caused by parents driving to and from the school in Chelmer Village.
This week it was revealed that the school has applied for planning for the retention of the temporary classroom for a further five years
And today Planning member Councillor Dave Harris lashed out at parents, and offered one solution to the traffic chaos.

He said: "It's a perennial problem isn't it – parking outside schools? It happens for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening and it's Bedlam.
“And I think to me we ought to support those initiatives by the school outside of this planning permission.
"I just wonder whether red lines are probably an option more than the yellow ones. Grow and pair of legs and walk to school.
“Sorry to be blunt. And for the few that that can't walk those extra few yards that there should be disabled facilities within the school."

It comes as The Sun last week revealed that parents have been left furious after council chiefs installed spy cameras to stop them parking outside their another school.
Mums and dads were plunged into "mayhem" at Sneyd Academy primary school in Stoke, Staffs., where a new red route now threatens them with £70 fines.
They are fuming that the red lines – prohibiting stopping – mean they can't get close enough to the school to drop off their kids.
And the tough new measures, designed to catch rule-breaking parents, have already started causing “mayhem” days into the new year.
Mum Sadia Begum, 33, said: “It’s an absolute nightmare trying to pick my children up.
"Yesterday I parked on the cul-de-sac I had always used to drop my kids off.

"I didn’t realise it was prohibited until the residents came out and started attacking me."
She added: “I understand their anger but where can I park? I don’t live nearby so it’s not like I can walk to the school."
