Police launch urgent to search to find 13-year-old boy who was last seen at school on Wednesday

  • The boy, 13, has only been publicly named as Joshua by police

  • South Yorkshire Police said he did not return to his home in Hillsborough 

An urgent search is under way to trace a teenager who didn’t come home from school two days ago.

The boy, 13, who has only been publicly named as Joshua by police, was last seen at school in Stannington, Sheffield, on Wednesday.

South Yorkshire Police said he did not return to his home in Hillsborough and officers have now launched an appeal for information on his whereabouts.

Joshua is described as white, with brown hair, and around 5ft 2ins tall. He was wearing a school uniform and it is not known if he had a change of clothes with him.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: ‘Officers in Sheffield are appealing for your help to find Joshua.

‘Joshua, 13, was last seen on Wednesday (13 July) at school in the Stannington area and did not return to his home address in the Hillsborough area of the city.

‘He is white and described as having brown hair and being 5ft 2ins tall. Joshua was wearing a school uniform and it is not known if he had a change of clothes with him.

‘Joshua is known to frequent Hillsborough Park, Centertainment and Meadowhall.

‘Extensive enquiries have been carried out to trace the teenager, and we are now asking for your help.’

Anyone with information which may help police is urged to call 101 quoting incident number 646 of 14 July.
