A man has gone viral for studying a Wetherspoon menu on a train for ’15 minutes’, with fellow Brits applauding him for his choice of ‘true British literature’ to accompany him on his journey.
The pub fan was sat with the menu propped open in his hands, studiously reading the long-list of the chain’s mains.
A fellow ‘impressed’ passenger shared the photo, adding: ‘This guy reading the Wetherspoons menu for 15mins on the train yesterday.’
Overnight the post was shared by thousands, receiving 1.3 million views on Twitter, with many Britons finding the image hilarious, with one calling him a ‘man of culture’.
It is unclear which branch the man had taken the menu from or where he was headed.

It comes months after the pub giant announced that it would be closing some of its branches up and down the country

It comes as Spoons fans are up in arms over a number of pub closures up and down the country.
Hove’s The Cliftonville, in East Sussex, Southport’s The Willow Grove, in Merseyside, and The Moon & Bell in Loughborough were among the latest sites to be axed.
In January, the pub chain said sales jumped at the end of 2022 but it is still struggling to keep up with its pre-pandemic performance.
Like-for-like sales rose 18 per cent in the last quarter of 2022 at the firm’s 844 pubs, but are still 2 per cent behind 2019 levels.
Wetherspoons also noted that costs were far higher than three years ago, especially for labour, food, energy and maintenance.
