Sir Rod Stewart raised a laugh with his Twitter followers after posting a photo of a pillbox with an uncanny resemblance.

A photo of what appears to be a Second World War era bunker covered in long grass was posted online by Twitter account No Context Brits.

Fans pointed out the grass on the bunker had a strange resemblance to Sir Rod’s iconic frizzy hair.

The Tweet was captioned ‘Rod Stewart is looking well’ and received almost 80,000 likes online.

Sir Rod, 77, clearly saw the funny side of the unusual comparison, retweeting the lookalike bunker to his 500,000 followers.

He added: ‘F*** sake’ with a laughing emoji as his fans sent the photo viral with over 430,000 likes and 31,500 retweets.

Many Twitter users poked fun at the Maggie May singer and posted their own Rod Stewart lookalike photos online.

One quoted Sir Rod’s 1972 Faces hit Stay With Me by saying: ‘With a face like that you’ve got nothing to laugh about.’

Others joked the singer looked more like Pimlico Plumbers CEO Charlie Mullins.

A fan even tried to one-up the comparison of Sir Rod to the hairy bunker, sharing a photo of a horse that looked uncanically like a retro photo of the rock star in a zebra jacket.

Another fan even went so far as to make a mock-up of the bunker singing Sir Rod’s hit song Young Turks using the POSE app.

Fans poked fun at Sir Rod with a number of entertaining digs sent to him on Twitter

Rod Stewart recently made fans laugh with an impression of longtime friend Sir Elton John.

Sir Rod posted a video to his 1.2 million Instagram followers of himself dressed in an Elton John-esque outfit and glasses miming at playing the piano.

It was posted with the caption ‘Still love you, Elt’.

The pair have a 50 year history of pranks and digs at one another, which have just occasionally boiled over into feuds.

In their string of one-up pranks, Rod launched billboards to promote his 1970s Blondes ‘ave More Fun Tour – with Elton then placing billboards opposing those with his own face on them, reading ‘But Brunettes make more money’.

But their humorous digs back and forth came to a boiling point in 2018 – where Rod said that Elton’s tour was ‘dishonest’ and ‘stunk of selling tickets’ during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

The public dig sparked a real feud between the pair – who then weren’t on speaking terms -with Elton blasting: ‘ I thought he had a f***ing cheek, complaining about me promoting a tour while he was sat on a TV show promoting his own tour,’ in his autobiography.

This led to an apology from Rod, who explained he was ‘bang out of order’.

And the pair appear to be back to their pranking days, finally patching things up after three years of not talking to one another.
