Teen boys, 14, and 15, arrested on suspicion of murdering woman, 82, during masked raid at her Pakefield home | The Sun

TWO schoolboys have been arrested on suspicion of murdering an 82-year-old woman in a robbery at her home.

Joy Middleditch died after being knocked to the floor during the raid in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Police today confirmed they have arrested two boys aged 14 and 15 on suspicion of murdering the pensioner.

The pair remain at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Police were scrambled to Joy's home on Saturday afternoon after concerned relatives found her lying on the floor.

The pensioner was rushed to hospital but sadly couldn't be saved and died two days later.

Her stolen handbag was later recovered a short distance away but her purse was missing.

Joy managed to give officers a description of the intruders before she passed away – triggering a murder investigation.

Police believe the horror unfolded "during the hours of darkness" between the evening of March 24 and early morning on March 25.

A post mortem was carried out but further tests are being carried out to establish a cause of death.

Paying tribute, Joy's family said: "Joy was a strong, determined character who loved life and her dog.

"She was a loving person who was sadly taken from us too soon.

"We as a family would like to thank the police and the community for all their help and support."
