Top Brit wrestler tells ‘d**khead’ PM Sunak to ‘pay nurses’ during live TV rant

A top British wrestler has called the United Kingdom's Prime Minister a “d***head” on live television.

Zack Sabre Jr's outburst came as he told Rishi Sunak to “pay nurses properly” while waking down to the ring during New Japan Pro Wrestling's huge WrestleKingdom 17 event at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

Sunak has been facing calls from all sides of the political world to sit down and talk to nurses in a bid to avoid more NHS strikes in the coming months.

But he has yet to do so, instead directing everyone to the decision of the independent pay review board from last year.

And now the issue has gone global, after Zack Sabre Jr – who was born on the Isle of Sheppey – took the chance to highlight the issue ahead of his victory over Ren Nartia to become the first ever NJPW World Television Champion.

During his entrance, he shouted directly down the camera, saying: “"Rishi Sunak, pay nurses you f**king d***head".

The comments very quickly went viral on social media.

One person wrote: “Zack Sabre Jr. calling Rishi Sunak a d***head on the way to the ring is the top wrestling moment of 2023.”

A second posted: “ZSJ with the ultimate face turn by calling for Sunak to pay NHS nurses and calling him a d***head.”

After his victory, he would then join the group known as TMDK (The Mighty Don't Kneel), alongside Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls – formerly know as Nick Miller and Shane Thorne in WWE.

ZSJ, whose real name is Lucas Eatwell, made three appearances for WWE, all of which were in 2016.

He beat Tyson Dux, Drew Gulak and Noam Dar in the Cruiserweight Classic before loking to Gran Metalik.

It was claimed that he didn't make it to the final because he wouldn't agree a contract with WWE – but he has made a name for himself in NPJW as one of the best British talents in the wrestling world ever since.
