DOG owners have been given a top tip to keep their dogs cool in the scorching heatwave.
Brits witnessed temperatures soaring above 30C this week which has put their beloved pets' health at risk.
Dog owners have been splurging money on expensive cooling pads and paddling pools instead there are much cheaper ways to cut the cost for their little pups.
A spokesperson from retail company Tap Warehouse said: “Keep your pets cool with a spray bottle filled with cold water and gently spray over their body and feet.
“This will give a cooling effect and relax your pets as some can get distressed when they overheat.
“Better yet, reusable spray bottles can be bought for just 70p from The Range.”

Other tricks to help keep your pooch cool is to keep freezable toys handy while also including ice cubes to dog water bowls, or just give them one to chew on for the day.
Veterinary expert Dr Scott Miller has told the Mirror, said: “One way is adding extra water to their food bowl.
“Soak their dry food and/or feed them wet food for additional hydration support.”
Dr Miller has urged to limit dogs' play time to cooler hours in the morning and evening which will keep them safe from heat stroke leading to acute and chronic health issues.
While older dogs or brachycephalic are more vulnerable to extreme temperatures in this intense weather.
It comes as pet experts revealed other top tips to keep their dogs cool.
Using cooling mats or cooling jackets is an effective way to get your dog’s temperature down.
Another tip is to treat pets with frozen fruit slices or ice creams to keep them hydrated and healthy.
