TRAGEDY has struck today as a woman's body was found on a UK beach.
Emergency services raced to the Wales hotspot after a member of the public frantically phoned through.
Police were forced to close the road next to the beach as medics tried to save the woman.
Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the Penmaenmawr beach.
North Wales Police said: "Following a call from a member of the public earlier today, officers attended Penmaenmawr beach where sadly the body of a woman was discovered.
"The next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."

Earlier today, not long after 7am, the force said: "Officers are currently dealing with an incident on the beach. Please avoid the area so that officers can carry out their work.
"There is no risk to any member of the public."
