Two arrested in Sept. 17 Aurora homicide of man found shot in vehicle

Two people were arrested in connection to an Aurora homicide of a man found shot in a vehicle in the middle of the day, the Aurora Police Department announce Tuesday morning.

Aram Cooper, 25, and Crystal Purcell, 42, were booked in the Arapahoe County jail on suspicion first-degree murder in the Sept. 17 death of a 39-year-old man identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office Tuesday as Paul Colin Stone .

Officers responded to the 900 block of South Ironton Street about 12:45 p.m. Sept. 17 to a report of a shooting.

Witnesses had called 911 to report the shooting, and when officers arrived they found the victim, who had been shot, seated in a vehicle, police said in a news release.

The coroner’s office said the autopsy determined the manner of Stone’s death was homicide.

This case will be prosecuted by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and any further information will come from them.
