Two children are dead and two others are in a serious condition in hospital after a shed caught fire in Geelong’s north on Sunday morning.

Police said emergency services were called to Officer Court, Corio, just after 10.30am.

Two children are dead after a shed they were in caught on fire in Corio, near Geelong, on Sunday morning.

“It’s believed, at this early stage, four children were in the shed when it caught fire,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

Two children, who are yet to be formally identified, died at the scene, they said.

Two other children, also yet to be identified, have been airlifted to hospital in serious conditions.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire but are not treating it as suspicious at this stage.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
