BRITAIN could scorch in 3OC temperatures in just DAYS as a 10-day heatwave is on the cards, forecasters suggested.

Temperatures are expected to keep climbing to very hot conditions with a blistering hot weather heatwave is expected to hit in the coming weeks.

Over the next week, the mercury will reach 24C in London by 4pm on Thursday, July 7.

The following Monday, July 11, will welcome highs of 28C in the southeast, with London painted an angry red on charts, as are Southampton, Oxford and Cambridge.

The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said he wouldn’t be surprised if we got 35C, but the Met Office believes the weather will be 30C.

Brian told The Sun: “At the moment long-range computer models are suggesting an increased likelihood of very warm conditions during the last third of July.

“Temperatures in the UK reached 32.7C earlier this month and typically the hottest weather of the summer comes in July or August.  In recent years periods of extreme heat have become more common in the UK.

I wouldn't be surprised if temperatures climbed to 35C (91F). To put a little context on that, the hottest day in the entire decade of the 1980s was 34.4C.”

William Hill latest odds on scorching summer weather

Red-hot weather looks likely this month, with William Hill odds-on at 4/5 for temperatures in July to peak at between 30-34c.

It looks very possible at 10/11 for the thermometer to rise above the current 2022 high of 32.4c recorded in June, while William Hill makes it 7/2 for the UK to bask in temperatures of 35c or more and 25/1 for the British record of 38.7c to be broken.

“June saw an unusually high temperature of 32.4c, but we think there are hotter days to come and make it 10/11 for the 2022 record to be set in July.”

Top tips for Hay fever sufferers

The pollen levels across the UK are very high at the moment.

While this usually means the sun is out and the weather is warm, it can lead to some serious discomfort for Hay Fever sufferers, so here are some tips from the NHS to help.

    • put Vaseline around your nostrils to trap pollen
    • wear wraparound sunglasses to stop pollen getting into your eyes
    • shower and change your clothes after you have been outside to wash pollen off
    • stay indoors whenever possible
    • keep windows and doors shut as much as possible
    • vacuum regularly and dust with a damp cloth
    • buy a pollen filter for the air vents in your car and a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter
    • try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if you have a high temperature or you do not feel well enough to do your normal activities

End of July will see warmer weather

Higher pressure is likely to continue bringing generally fine and settled weather throughout the rest of July, which may extend more widely across the UK.

However, we may see some less settled weather for a time at the start of this period, with northern areas likely to continue seeing showers, these extending further south at times.

Temperatures will be near or above normal, becoming warmer throughout July.

We may see some very warm or hot temperatures, especially across the south.

Mid July will see higher temperatures

High pressure likely to dominate through this period, bringing dry and generally settled conditions.

Southern and eastern areas can expect the best of any fine and dry weather, with light winds, and warm or very warm temperatures.

The north and northwest will experience cloudier conditions with mostly light rain, though some heavier outbreaks can’t be ruled out in the far northwest, with moderate or fresh winds in the far north, and near normal temperatures.

This generally settled regime persists for much of the remainder of the period, although cloud, showers, and some longer spells of rain may continue to affect northern areas at times, and some showers are possible across the south.

Temperatures widely near or above average through this period, especially in the south where it may be warm.

    Tonight's forecast

Showers becoming restricted to northern and western areas, with many southern and eastern areas then dry with some mist patches in the south later.

Cloudier and windier across northern and western parts of Scotland with rain or showers, some heavy.

How does the week ahead look?

Apart from an isolated light shower, many central and southern parts becoming dry with increasing sunny spells through the afternoon.

Breezy with scattered showers across northern areas.

Fine start for many, before rain, heavy for some northwestern hills, pushes east overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday.

Thereafter, becoming mainly fine and warm away from the northwest.

    Scattered showers in Manchester tomorrow

Scattered showers through the morning but turning lighter and less frequent for the afternoon with sunny spells.
