A huge projection has been emblazoned across a Ukrainian landmark in a taunting display of defiance against mad Vlad Putin's backfiring invasion.

The message simply says '100k' in reference to the number of Russians that have been killed so far during the conflict.

It appears that Ukraine have mocked the Russian PM Vladimir Putin as they beam an image of '100k' deaths on the Vernadsky National Library in Kyiv.

Zelensky's top man Kyrylo Tymoshenko quipped 'The situation with light has improved in Kyiv' as he took social media to share the mesage.

Kyiv, which is one of many cities across the country that has suffered power cuts as a result of Russian aggression has left many without heating and electricity.

The war which recently surpassed 300 days was marked by Zelensky's trip to the US earlier this week where he showed his gratitude for the support given to Ukrainians by the western world.

He described the reaction from the international community as "an investment in the global security and democracy that we handle in the most responsible way."

During his visit, he met with President Joe Biden at the White House before trips to the U.S. Capitol and a joint session of Congress.

Experts previously warned that Putin would not end the war in Ukraine until the death toll had reached 1million people.
