The country has been defending its freedom against Putin’s bloody invasion since February 24.

The UN’s US mission said Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield will reiterate the United States’ ‘unwavering support’ for Ukraine as it ‘defends its freedom and territorial integrity amidst Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion’.

Her first stop appeared to be at a flour mill in the Ukrainian capital, where she was presented with a loaf of bread.

Later today she will meet with Ukrainian government leaders in Kyiv to discuss the ‘ironclad’ American commitment to the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will also hear first-hand accounts from survivors of Russian war atrocities and see how Ukrainian officials are documenting and preserving evidence of alleged war crimes.

She will then discuss the global food insecurity crisis exacerbated by Russia’s invasion and underscore the need for an extension of the Black Sea Grain Initiative into next year.

She will also meet with humanitarian organizations aiming to protect vulnerable people fighting a cold winter in Ukraine.

The Ambassador has been on a tour of Europe and just yesterday was in Albania.

She met with Prime Minister Edi Rama and Foreign Minister Olta Xhacka and discussed shared goals of strengthening international support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence.

Her visit to Ukraine today comes as an attack to retake the city of Kherson could be imminent, Russian state media suggested.

New footage reveals Kyiv’s troops fighting for their lives.

Heart-stopping video captured on an unknown battlefield in recent weeks shows Ukrainian soldiers opening fire on their Russian counterparts with rifles, machine guns, and rocket launchers as they battle for control of a town.

The gritty footage also shows wounded Ukrainian troops – one of whom requires a tourniquet after being hit in the leg (left) and another of whom is shown lying against a wall (right)

The footage even shows one Ukrainian going down wounded with blood pouring from his leg as one of his comrades rushes to apply a tourniquet to save his life.

Though it is unclear exactly where the video was filmed, it emerged as Russian state media warned the city of Kherson may soon come under attack.

‘Today is the last day of the [civilian] evacuation,’ one Russian official told a state TV channel early Tuesday.

‘People who did not leave are realizing the seriousness of the situation and my warnings.’
