Vogue India has been hit by claims of nepotism after putting the 18-year-old daughter of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on its front cover.
The prestigious fashion magazine usually reserves its front for the most famous actors, singers or models in the world.
But Suhana – who describes herself as a ‘student, theatre lover, future star’ – is yet to make her mark in any industry.

The cover prompted many social media users to accuse Vogue India of putting her on the cover solely because she is the daughter of ‘The King of Bollywood’ (pictured together)
Suhana (pictured with her father) responded to the criticism by saying: ‘I keep telling myself that haters are going to hate, but I can’t honestly say that I don’t get upset by it’
That has prompted many social media users to accuse Vogue India of putting her on the cover solely because she is the daughter of ‘The King of Bollywood’.
Anaita Shroff Adajania, who styled the shoot, is also a friend of Shah’s.
One Twitter user, Vaishali, wrote: ‘Girls like me are not even getting jobs at Vogue India but girls who have literally not done anything int heir entire lives are getting on its over.’

Another, Varun’s Galaxy, asked: ‘Why does a prestigious magazine like Vogue India have Suhana Khan on [the] cover? Is she celebrity. No. She is just [the] daughter of a superstar.
‘Will an ordinary girl get this chance who perhaps [could be] more talented than her. Never. Nepostic Vogue India. SHAME.’
But Suhana responded to the criticism by saying: ‘I keep telling myself that haters are going to hate, but I can’t honestly say that I don’t get upset by it.
‘It’s annoying, but I keep telling myself other people have bigger problems.’
Shah himself also explained that he hopes the cover will not be seen as nepotism.
He said: ‘Things went well for me but kids are kids, children are children, and in this changing world sometimes you need the assistance of friends to give them a little more comfort and self belief and self worth so I want to thank Vogue for taking my little daughter and putting her on the cover.
‘I hope it is not taken as entitled just because she happens to be Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter… Thank you for putting her in a place where the responsibility that you’ve put on her by putting her on this cover is going to remove some of the entitlement she has because of she happens to be my daughter.’
In the magazine, he explained: ‘We have friends who are very well-meaning and think of my kids as their own, and they’re all happy and keen to launch her… But I keep insisting that I don’t want them designed as stars, I want them to be launched when they are good enough actors.’
And some social media users backed his daughter against the criticism.
Himesh wrote: ‘There is nothing wrong in nepotism. If my father was an actor, I would have definitely asked for his help to give me a break and there is NOTHING wrong in it.’
