Israel has “no option” but to take out the Hamas terrorist regime “building by building,” says a security expert who thinks striking Iran could also be on the cards.
The Israeli leadership has, via the Israel Defence Force, been hitting back at keys strategic targets in Gaza after Hamas launched a surprise Iran-backed attack on the Jewish state on Saturday. The latest figures show that 700 Israelis were killed by Hamas, while around 370 people in Gaza and 400 Hamas terrorists have been killed.
Despite the growing list of casualties on both sides, Professor Anthony Glees claimed that Israel has “no option” but to continue – despite previous mistakes made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, he said: “Israel has no option but to take the Hamas regime in Gaza apart, building by building. “However Hamas's blood brothers Hezbollah, a revolutionary Islamist army, are poised to attack in the north of Israel, not least because Israel has now been shown not to have one of the best security and intelligence forces in the world, has been shown unable to protect its civilians from being murdered and taken hostage. Suddenly Israel has become very vulnerable.

“At the same time Israel may have to strike at Iran who train, fund and supply Hamas and Hezbollah, and that will lead to a more general war in the Middle East, for sure."
The attack by the group designated a terrorist organisation by the UK Government in 2021 was launched on the last day of the Jewish High Holiday of Succot, as well as Shabbat, when the vast majority of the country's population were in synagogues to celebrate the festival. Within minutes, social media was filled with photos and videos of Hamas terrorists taking Israeli residents hostage, brutalising them and murdering them.

According to the IDF, Hamas made 80 breaches to Israel's security walls before infiltrating the country.
More than 1,100 Israelis are also thought to have been injured by the initial attack, and subsequent fighting since then – with the IDF confirming that all but six of the 80 breaches have now been repaired.
