What football team does Rishi Sunak support? | The Sun

THE new prime ministers political party may be blue, but when it comes to football, Rishi Sunak's loyalties are firmly on the red side.

But what football team does he support? Here's everything you need to know.

What football team does Rishi Sunak support?

The new Prime Minister supports Premier League club Southampton FC, who are also nicknamed the Saints.

And it comes as no Suprise as like many, Rishi supports the club at the heart of his hometown – he was born in Southampton in 1980.

His favourite player is Saints legend Matt Le Tissier.

When Sunak was 18 years-old, his father Yashvir owned a season ticket to watch Southampton FC, and Sunak said that he was given a card signed by the whole team for his 18th birthday celebrations.

'‘Now let’s hope it lasts.’'

His tweet was also accompanied by a snap of the premier league table, visibly showing Southampton sat on the top, below Liverpool.
