This came after she won a gold medal in 1971 and two silver medals in 1975 at the European Eventing Championships.

In the 1976 Montreal Olympics, Princess Anne rode her mother's horse, Goodwill, during the three-day equestrian event but unfortunately failed to earn herself a medal.

She was previously the president of the International Equestrian Federation from 1987 to 1993 and now serves as the Honorary President of the British Olympic Association.

Princess Anne was married to Mark Phillips from 1973 to 1992.

The pair divorced each other in 1992 and later that year, Princess Anne tied the knot with Timothy Laurence.

Does Princess Anne have any children?

Princess Anne had two children with Mark Phillips – Peter and Zara.

Anne declined titles for her children after she was given the choice of adding an HRH status to their name.

Royal tradition dictates that only the father can pass on his title but since Mark Phillips was a commoner he had no title to bestow.

Peter Phillips was their firstborn and following the Queen's passing away, he is now seventeenth in line for the throne.

He was born on November 15, 1977, and was the first legitimate grandchild of the monarch to be born without a title in over 500 years.

He played for the rugby league team at the University of Exeter, from which he graduated with a degree in sports science.
