22 Kids And Counting’s Sue urges fans to ignore Instagram post on son’s account

Sue Radford and her husband Noel warned Instagrammers “not to fall for the scam”, explaining that their 24-year-old son Daniel’s account had been taken over and used to advertise supposed Bitcoin investment deals.

Taking to their own Instagram account, @theradfordfamily, the 22 Kids and Counting pair attached a photo of the fake post, explaining yesterday: “This is not Daniel, his account got hacked and he can’t get it back.”

The suspicious post featured a carousel of photos of a spacious and well-decorated home, captioned: “Congratulations to me – my very first house here in the UK, all thanks to bitcoin mining.”

It then tagged a “mentor” that his followers should check out, but the post gave an obvious clue that the writer was not really Daniel, when American wording was used to say: “Y’all go follow my bitcoin coach.”

On Stories, the scammer seemingly hoped to lure in would-be investors, teasing of the house: “This cost me a lot but it was all worth it. All thanks to Bitcoin mining.”

Daniel is the fifth child in the Radfords’ mammoth family, which began when Sue fell pregnant for the first time at the age of 13.

Now 48, she has since given birth to an impressive total of 22 kids, who are aged between three and 34 years old.

Daniel had been a keen user of the Instagram app, but had been inactive on it for a few weeks, with his last post seemingly documenting a holiday with friends.

His past jobs have included preparing pies in the family bakery, while his admission into the Royal Air Force was documented on the 22 Kids And Counting show on Channel 5.

The large family has been a source of fascination to the nation, and they also have a YouTube show, where the parents often answer questions addressed to them.

Reading out one during a Q&A recently, Sue firmly denied the accusation that their huge brood is spoilt.

The question read: “Why do you spoil your kids? Why do you think they deserve it?”, but the TV star hit back that she merely tries to “give them a good life”.

“They don’t get gifts all the time, they get gifts when it’s their birthday or Christmas and they don’t get anything in between,” she explained.

She added: “I feel like years ago when we had seven kids, we weren’t quite as financially stable to be able to give them that kind of life, whereas now we are, so it might seem like they do spoil them but I don’t think we do.”

The foot-and-mouth agricultural crisis meant that earlier on in their lives, they were plagued by debt and even considered splitting up due to the stress of it.

On their Channel 5 show, Sue admitted: “You used to go to bed thinking about the debt… you’d wake up during the night thinking about the debt.

“If anything was going to have caused us to get a divorce, it was this… I genuinely thought our marriage was not gonna pull through that.”

Fortunately, Noel’s bakery, which he has run for 25 years, has had a huge spate of success.
