Adam Thomas can’t stop smiling with mini-me son following Strictly announcement

Adam Thomas and his mini-me son were all smiles as they landed back in the UK following a family getaway to Mallorca.

The former Emmerdale star arrived at Manchester Airport, just days after it was announced that he will be competing in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Adam and his wife Caroline made their way through the airport with their children Teddy and Elsie Rose, after jetting back from their holiday, which may be the last time he spends relaxing for a while as he's set to begin training for Strictly soon.

The actor sported a beige long sleeved top, striped trousers, and some beige-coloured Crocs as he walked hand-in-hand with his mini-me son.

His son Teddy looked happy to be back in the UK as he donned a green hoodie and black trousers, with daughter Elsie Rose appearing to wear a matching ensemble.

Caroline meanwhile sported a comfortable dark green tracksuit and carried her daughter.

Following a huge amount of speculation, it was confirmed earlier this week that Adam will be joining Strictly. He said: "I am so excited to be joining the cast of this years' Strictly Come Dancing.

"I've been such a big fan of the show for years, I can't believe I'm actually doing it! I can't dance to save my life but I'm buzzing to learn and have a good laugh with my pro. Get me on that dance floor…I can't wait!"

Adam is best known for playing Adam Barton in ITV's long-running and ever popular soap Emmerdale, in which he won a TV Choice award for Best Soap Newcomer.

More recently, he is known for reprising his role as Donte Charles in BBC One's Waterloo Road after being an original cast member in the original series.

He's no stranger to celebrity-based reality shows, after putting in an appearance on ITV's I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2016, and went on to co-host the spin-off–I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.

Ahead of the confirmation he was set to don sequins and sparkles while learning iconic dance moves in the next few weeks, there were rumours he'd signed up for the show.

Adam jokingly expressed his openness to experiencing the notorious "Strictly curse," a theory that suggests participants in the show often end up splitting up with their partners.

Speaking previously about the rumours he'd join the popular dancing show, he playfully said: "Bring it all on. I love a bit of glitz and glam. I just want to experience the Strictly curse."
