Amy Dowden rings bell to celebrate the end of her chemo journey
Amy Dowden has confirmed that she will be present at Saturday night’s live show as Strictly Come Dancing marks the 10th week in the 2023 competition.
The professional dancer, 33, appeared upbeat as she shared a photograph of herself on her way to Elstree Studio on Saturday morning. She looked beautiful in a zebra print blouse with a breast cancer awareness badge pinned to her chest.
She also sported a dewy makeup look while bravely baring her bald head as she travelled in the back of a car.
In the caption, the Caerphilly-born star wrote: “@bbcstrictly here I come! Can’t wait to support and watch everyone.”
Amy was unable to perform with a celebrity partner this year due to her battle with stage three breast cancer.

She had hoped to return to the dancefloor before the end of the series but said her plans were crushed when she suffered an injury to her foot.
Sharing a photograph of herself wearing a walker boot, Amy wrote last week: “Not the week I was hoping for since finishing chemo. Port out but unfortunately gained a boot for a fractured foot.
“Absolutely gutted and heartbroken as this means the plans for me to dance in the Strictly Ballroom this year are no longer possible. This is what has kept me going the past few months. 2023 is certainly not my year, roll on 2024 I say!”
Thankfully, she has still been able to be a part of this year’s Strictly and travelled to Blackpool last week so she could celebrate with the contestants and their professional partners.

After the show had finished at the Tower Ballroom, the dancers headed to the afterparty with Amy in attendance.
Photographs show her walking with the help of crutches before using a wheelchair later in the night as she wore a sparkly black suit and a pink corset top.
Amy was diagnosed with the disease in May after finding a lump one day before her honeymoon with husband Ben Jones.
She underwent a mastectomy in July but was later told that she would need a course of chemotherapy as the cancer had spread.
While she has now finished chemo, she still has to visit the hospital to have her monthly injections.
Speaking on Thursday, Amy said that she feels like she’s “in limbo” as she doesn’t have a “routine”.
Strictly Come Dancing airs at 7.30pm on BBC One.
