Tragic TV presenter Annabel Giles posed for a picture of her counselling her cat just weeks before her death aged 64 following an ‘aggressive’ brain tumour’.
The glamorous Welsh model was best known for co-presenting ITV’s Posh Frocks And New Trousers with Sarah Greene – alongside her starring role on I’m a Celebrity in 2013.
She passed away peacefully at Martlets Hospice in Hove aged 64, her heartbroken family revealed in a statement yesterday, after being diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma, a type of brain tumour, in July earlier this year.
But even at the end she was making people laugh as she posed in an inquisitive stance in a high-backed chair under a tall standard lamp.
With her hands folded on her lap, she appeared to pose a question at the floral sofa opposite – above which two cat ears just poke out.
Annabel – who worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist – gently poked fun at her profession as she shared the joke with her family and friends on November 1, just 20 days before she died.

One pal joked: ‘Tell me about your kitten hood…’ while another laughed: ‘Yes, I think you may be catatonic…’
Bantering with her friends, Annabel ‘laugh’ reacted to several of their comments – and ‘wow’ reacted to a particularly existential reply reading: ‘When I was in the box, it felt like I didn’t exist.’
She even attacked one of her pals as ‘RUDE’ for joking: ‘Everyone assuming that the cat is the one getting the therapy!’ – quickly following it up with a ‘laughing face’ emoji as they teased each other.
In a room full of weathered books, with a guitar leaning against the wall, the scene of her final post was described as ‘so perfect’ by one onlooker.
Before the picture was put on Facebook Annabel had last posted on her Twitter account – where she made a poignant tribute to Friends star Matthew Perry, who died in late October.
Sharing a post from Michael Schwartz, she added a comment that she said was ‘VERY VERY IMPORTANT’.
She said: ‘“If you want to keep it, you’ve got to give it away”, and he did. Give.’

One, Emma Park, said: ‘What a perfect tweet to sign out on. Rest easy. You’ll be missed and remembered.’
Lynn Blackburn added: ‘R.I.P such lovely Bubbly lady, she was so nice. Very sad.
‘Condolences to her family and friends.’
And a third – Oriana White – said: ‘Much love, light and peace to your family.
‘Thank you for your humour and lovely interaction here on Twitter from time to time You will be missed.’
Annabel’s Instagram page had not been touched for 26 weeks before her death, when she shared a post on her birthday – saying she was: ‘Having a lovely day and the sun has come out especially.’
Following her diagnosis, the TV favourite went through brain surgery and radiotherapy and became ‘passionate’ about raising awareness for her condition as part of a ‘lifelong commitment to helping others’.
In a statement posted on her social media, her children said their mother ‘will leave us inspired to live life to the fullest’, adding that she ‘kept her spirits high and maintained her quick wit until the very end’.

They continued: ‘It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our incredible mother, Annabel Giles, who passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon at Martlets Hospice in Hove.
‘In July, Mum was diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma, a fast-growing and highly aggressive malignant brain tumour.
‘In the four months that followed, she displayed remarkable resilience and strength, despite undergoing brain surgery and countless radiotherapies.
‘In her final weeks, she was passionate about raising awareness for Glioblastoma, embodying her lifelong commitment to helping others.
‘Mum was truly one of a kind, an enigma to those privileged to share her life. True to her nature, she kept spirits high and maintained her quick wit until the very end.
‘Her humour and laughter will leave us inspired to live life to the fullest, just as she always did.
‘We thank you for your love and support and kindly request that you respect our privacy at this challenging time.

Born in Pontypool, Wales, Annabel began modelling in her 20s and gained prominence presenting ITV shows Razzmatazz and Night Network.
She starred as co-presenter of ITV’s Posh Frocks and New Trousers alongside Sarah Greene and later featured as a panellist on a number of shows, including Have I Got News For You, Through The Keyhole and Noel’s House Party.
In 2013, she appeared on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, arriving of the fifth day alongside Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Vincent Simone, but became the first famous face to leave the jungle.
She later returned to TV as she took on a role in ITV reality show Our Shirley Valentine Summer and featured in Rehab The Musical in 2022.
Giles also acted as an agony aunt with BBC Radio Wales earlier this year and was working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in Brighton and London.
Annabel was married in the 1980s to Ultravox singer Midge Ure. The couple had a daughter named Molly and lived together for six years in a listed Georgian mansion on the River Thames in West London.
When they seperated, Annabel and Molly moved into a smaller house nearby. She later revealed in an article for the Daily Mail in 2010 that she and Midge were ‘still friends’, 25 years after they met.

At the age of 38, Annabel had a second child named Tedd with an unknown man who later left her when Tedd was only two-and-a-half weeks old.
Posh Frocks And New Trousers co-star Sarah Greene paid tribute to her friend following her death.
The TV presenter said she had lit candles in honour of her father’s 100th birthday but dedicated the sentiment to Giles as well.
Alongside a photo of the candles posted to X, she wrote: ‘I lit 33 and a 1/3 candles tonight for Dad’s 100th birthday – being one of his 3 babies.
‘But I absolutely know he’d want to share the light with darling La Giles this evening… so Annabel, they’re for you too, with love, Greenebottome XX’
Channel 4 news anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy, who also starred alongside Giles and Greene on the show, described Giles as ‘so funny, clever and gorgeous’.
He added: ‘Annabel Giles was one of my first tv partners in crime and I remember just being in awe of her.’
Comedian Jenny Eclair praised her as ‘beautiful, funny, and clever’ as she sent her love to Giles’s family.

‘I have the fondest memories – I wouldn’t want to ride a camel with anyone else’, she added.
TV star Sue Perkins hailed her as a ‘beautiful person’ while stand-up comic Lee Hurst described her as a ‘ball of fun’ as he recalled working with her in the past.
Actor Michael Smiley said she was the ‘epitome of classy kindness’ as he recalled their time together in Adelaide, Australia, for the comedy festival in 1996.
Alongside a photo of them on the beach, he wrote: ‘We teased each other relentlessly. I loved her dearly. I, like so many others, am heartbroken. Rest in peace beautiful Annabel Giles.’
Comedian David Baddiel posted a music video for Hale and Pace’s 1991 hit The Stonk, which was released in aid of Comic Relief, saying: ‘Posting this in memory of the gorgeous Annabel’.
The music video starred Annabel alongside Baddiel and other famous faces including Hugh Dennis, Rob Newman and Rowan Atkinson.
The single was produced by former Queen guitarist Brian May, who was also featured on the track with other musicians including Nick Lowe, David Gilmour, Tony Iommi, Neil Murray, Cozy Powell, Roger Taylor and Mike Moran.
