Glastonbury: Billie Eilish says ‘it’s a dark day for women in US’

Billie Eilish stunned fans at her Lollapalooza show on Thursday night when she walked onto the stage in an oversized Chicago Bulls shirt, matching shorts and black and red sunglasses.

One part of the show the audience wasn’t expecting was the 21-year-old’s dramatic hair reveal, as she leaned forward showing her roots had been dyed bright red.

The What Was I Made For singer had kept her long black locks, just altering the hair around her scalp making for a bold and edgy splash of fiery colour as she ran around on stage.

Later, on Instagram, Billie continued the trend of her hair-reveals posting a selfie with her chin angled down showing off the red dye in all of its fierceness as her long black bangs guarded her bright blue eyes from the camera.

She wrote in the caption: “Remember me?” to which many fans replied in the comments: “Do you think we can forget?”

Her first album, which featured hits like Bury a Friend, was largely tied to the singer’s light purple and blue hair colours.

Shortly after, Billie switched to her iconic lime green colour and kept it that way for almost two years.

In late 2020, fans hit out at the singer, making fun of the colour and questioning why she hadn’t changed it which prompted Billie to reveal her hair has strong ties to her mental health.

In a candid Instagram post, the then-18-year-old shared: “It’s called not being depressed anymore, just be happy for me. This is the longest I’ve had the same hair color since I was 13 & that’s on mental stability and growth, leave me alone.”

However, just a few months after making this revelation Billie debuted an entirely new look with a platinum blonde bob cut and explained that the lime green made her too recognisable to stalkers and paparazzi when she was in public.

The Happier Than Ever singer then switched to a plain dark brown look in 2021 that gradually shifted to black over the next two years, which she has seemingly kept even with her new red pop.
