Brenda Edwards has revealed her close relationship with singer Ed Sheeran, following the recent death of her son Jamal Edwards.
The music mogul passed away in February, aged just 31, from cardiac arrhythmia after taking "recreational drugs," with Brenda sharing his cause of death in a statement after the inquest was opened.
The Loose Women star, 53, has now revealed how her son's friend has helped her in the months since his tragic passing.
She said: "Ed is a beautiful soul. He is an amazing, phenomenal talent. I love him and his whole family to the bone.
"We are close, the families are close, and he has been there and offered me support. He is there playing to millions on tour but he is still concerned and worried about me.
"It warms my heart and touches my heart how so many people have come together to support us through something that is very upsetting and is still very raw," Brenda continued to The Sun.
Jamal helped a number of aspiring singers achieve their dream when he founded a music media company called SBTV.
Brenda, her daughter Tanisha, 22, and staff at SBTV will mark his birthday with a tribute event in Greenwich, South East London today (Wednesday 24 September).
Artists including Big Narstie and Fleur East will perform, with all ticket sale proceeds going to the Jamal Edwards Self Belief Foundation.
Ed recently shared a throwback snap alongside his late friend Jamal.
The Shivers hitmaker, 31, took to Instagram and posted a photo of the pair enjoying a drink.
A coroner recently ruled that Jamal died after a cardiac arrest brought on by taking cocaine and drinking alcohol.
Brenda, described him as "a beautiful and selfless person" in a statement read to the inquest and has also said she wants his death to "help drive more conversation about the unpredictability of recreational drugs".
At the vigil to remember her musical son in February, Brenda channelled her grief into support for her son as she belted out Whitney Houston's Greatest Love Of All on a megaphone in his honour.
