Age-defying Carol Vorderman, 62, enjoyed a fun-filled detox at a luxury retreat in Portugal last month. The week-long trip turned into quite the celebrity affair and Carol was joined by Loose Woman Denise Welch, This Morning’s Alison Hammond, Alex Scott, Judge Rob Rinder and Dragons’ Den star Sarah Willingham.
Chatting to Express.co.uk, Carol explained that she goes to Juicy Oasis most Januarys as it is her “reset button”.
On what happens there, Carol said: “[Me and my friend Jules] are big walkers so we walk 13 miles on a mountain every day and have a little gym session and that’s enough, you are exhausted then.
“It’s not a spa, you know people go, ‘Oh, Champneys’, it’s the opposite of that.
“About 40 people stay and everyone sits around in pyjamas, you don’t wear makeup for two weeks. You are either in leggings, a swimming costume or your pyjamas, that’s it!

“Everyone’s the same, everyone looks rough, and it doesn’t matter.”
Carol’s trip was initially supposed to be just her and Jules before her showbiz pals decided to tag along.
The former Countdown star went on: “It was quite funny because Alison Hammond said, ‘Oh, are you going? I’ll come if you are going’, then everybody arrived on the Saturday.
“It was a bit of a riot I have to say!”

In true Vorders fashion, the pals could not help but get up to some mischief.
She revealed: “Denise, Alison, Jules and I snuck off a couple of times to the café in the local town for a coffee like giggling school children.
“It was just hilarious.
“And then we got busted when the receptionist walked in from Juicy Oasis, it was very funny.

“But I reckon you know, you are allowed a coffee if you do 13 miles on a mountain every day!”
During the juice cleanse, Carol also shared some of the group’s antics with her Instagram followers.
In a caption she said: “Had the best 10 days here.
“Every day…Walking half a marathon and a mountain…and a gym sesh…and a massage.”
