Chloe Madeley and James Haskell ‘didn’t have joint bank account’ before split

Chloe Madeley and James Haskell, who welcomed first child Bodhi in August last year, have sadly confirmed the end of her five year marriage.

The pair announced a joint statement where they said their "sole focus now is our beautiful daughter".

When Bodhi was born, the 36-year-old mum exclusively revealed to OK! that she returned to work eight weeks after welcoming her first child because she "needed the money."

The star, who is the daughter of TV icons Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, also admitted she didn't share a joint account with husband James Haskell.

The fitness coach and personal trainer said at the time: "James obviously makes a great income and he’s my partner and that’s fantastic, but we don’t have a joint account.

“We’ve always had separate accounts and I think that’s a bit of a pride thing with me. Next time, if I get pregnant again, I’m absolutely not doing it. I will swallow my pride, I will jump in on James’ account and take at least six months," she continued.

The couple, who had been together since 2014, secretly split back in September – but have only now made it public.

In a statement, Chloe told The Sun: “James and I mutually decided separate at the end of September, 2023.

“We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time – certainly not while the television show was airing – but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand.

“Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time.

“Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love.”

James, 38, was quick to break his silence in an emotional post on Instagram. He added to their statement: “It's with a lot of sadness I write this post, but unfortunately, in the world we live in, it has to be done. My priority is my daughter’s and Chloe’s happiness and security. For that reason, I won't be commenting any further.”

Chloe then shared his post on her social media as well.

Their shock split comes as Chloe's new ITV reality TV show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair, airs on screens. During each episode, the star opens the door and gives viewers an insights into how she juggles work, first-time motherhood, and her famous family.
