Ellie Taylor, 38, and her Strictly Come Dancing partner Johannes Radebe, 35, are through to week 10 of the competition, much to her surprise. The celebrity burst into a flurry of apologies soon after she and Johannes finished their routine on Saturday and she explained why on It Takes Two last night.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Ellie shared some gorgeous photos of her American Smooth routine.

She wrote: “Through to week flipping 10!? Absolutely blindsided by the love people have shown us.

“Thank you for supporting our silly gorgeous partnership and this *brace for cliche* wild magical journey.

“I am so grateful to get another week to work really bloody hard with this wonderful man (and Bev the Tamagotchi of course – there are three people in this marriage now).”

Other Strictly stars assembled in Ellie’s comment section, with the likes of Fleur East, AJ Odudu and Nancy Xu sending countless heart emojis.

It’s not hard for viewers to believe Ellie was dumbfounded by her results last weekend, especially when looking at her comedic reaction when she and Johannes were named safe from the dance-off.

The comedian officially made it past the famous Blackpool week, and Johannes has danced in the iconic ballroom for the first time with a celebrity partner.

Although they avoided the dance-off, the couple were at the bottom of the leaderboard with 31 points.

However, as Ellie explained on It Takes Two last night, this isn’t necessarily a bad score for dancers who couldn’t hear their own music.

She said: “There was a bit of an audio issue at the beginning of the dance so us on the floor, we couldn’t hear the tune so the beginning of the dance didn’t happen as it should have.”

Ellie revealed she was apologising so profusely as she believed the glitch was her fault.

“I obviously thought, if anyone’s done anything weird it’s me.

“So I spent the whole dance going: ‘I’ve done it wrong, what did I do?’

“I’m really proud of how we came out of it.

“Being live on telly in Blackpool and not knowing what’s happening, I don’t think I’ve ever been more terrified in my life.”

Johannes, who Ellie has affectionately nicknamed Jojo, added: “When that glitch happened, I looked into her eyes and I said ‘back bend’ and she followed me!

“It could’ve gone either way and that’s why I was so relieved to hear our names called out because it’s not how it’s supposed to be but we came out with something.”

Next week the couple are set to take on the Jive to Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl, although Ellie noted they are still deciding “who’s the brown-eyed girl, one of us will be.”

Ellie added one last person to her Thank You’s on Instagram, saying her husband Phil Black “has been flipping incredible throughout this whole wild Strictly stint”.

She wrote on her story: “If you’re looking for marriage material, he comes highly recommended but sadly he is currently out of stock.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One at 7:15pm.
